Blog/Skin Related

  1. Why does the way the posts, pages, etc look different from your book review blog that's hosted on Wordpress?
Because of the different themes. I like having everything to match with the theme I'm using, so, yes, you will see either a lot of differences or a little. I will try to keep it almost the same.
  2. Why keep your book review blog that's hosted on Wordpress?
Just in case this one's bandwidth goes bye-bye or I lose the data on here. ^^; Backups are good.

Reviewing/Review Related

  1. Why do you review? When did you start reviewing?
I started reviewing books on March 11, 2009 because I was bored and also to keep a detailed record of the books I have read.
  2. When will you post your reviews?
Errr... After I'm done writing them, so hopefully, it will not take that long to post them. :X
  3. When will you review the things I suggested, sent you, on your coming soon/planning to read pages?
    Suggestions and things you sent to me will be read and reviewed at my discretion. Translation: I'll read them if I want to. As for the coming soon and planning to read pages, I will read and post reviews on them as soon as I finish revamping everything. ;---;
  4. I want you to add my review link to your review. How can I do this?
Leave a comment on the review itself stating your opinion of it and post your link to your review. I'll add it to the review as soon as I can.
  5. What is your review policy?
Please look here for the answer.
  6. I found a spelling error in one of your reviews.
Make a comment about it on the review itself. Please and Thank You.
  7. Why did you/didn’t you like ___? I don’t agree with your review at all!
That’s fine. We can agree to disagree about which books we like and don’t like. You are welcome to rate the book and comment on the post about what you think about the book. That’s what the comments and rating widget thing are there for. However, if you just flame my review, I’ll just delete the comment. Put what you liked in the book, instead of just going, “Why don’t you like the book?! It was a great one!.” Okay, great, you liked it, and I didn’t. So, what did you like about it?
  8. Why do you even write book reviews?
There must not be a lot of people who look through them.I know I would like for people to comment, view, and rate more, but I don’t really write reviews to get more views or be popular on the web. I write them because I love reading books (most of the time) and this helps me to remember the books I love. :) Plus, it gives me to do something on the Internet, besides chatting on IRC. :X
  9. Why do two book reviews for the same book?
Because I might come up with a better book review than the first one. Also, I don't believe in judging things based on my first impression only. If I still like the book the second time I read it, then it means the book is really good. I don't think there is anyone who hasn't had second thoughts over a book they have read the first time, so I decided to show that on my reviews. All book reviews are labeled which time it is --- just look on the categories. :D
  10. What are all the places you post your reviews?
Goodreads, Wordpress, Amazon (Share with Dad), and Bandwidth site.
  11. Where can I view your statistics?
Go to the about page here.

  2. Where can I make blog/book/movie/any kind of suggestion?
Make a comment on this page. :)
  3. Where do I post about sending you a copy/ARC (Advanced Readers' Copy)?

Disclosure

Okay, I have been looking around blogs and been seeing the Disclosure things, so I decided to put one on.
The revised Guides also add new examples to illustrate the long standing principle that “material connections” (sometimes payments or free products) between advertisers and endorsers – connections that consumers would not expect – must be disclosed. These examples address what constitutes an endorsement when the message is conveyed by bloggers or other “word-of-mouth” marketers. The revised Guides specify that while decisions will be reached on a case-by-case basis, the post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement. Thus, bloggers who make an endorsement must disclose the material connections they share with the seller of the product or service.
At Koorihime-sama's Reviews (also known as Ice Princess' Reviews), I review published books, advance review copies (also known as ARCs), and e-books. These materials come from the following: 1) Checked out from my public library, 2) I own from buying a copy at Amazon, Wal-Mart, my public library, and/or other book stores, 3) I own the book because it was a gift from a family member or friend, 4) The book was given to me by an author and/or publisher, 5) Borrowed from a friend, 6) I won in a giveaway. I will state on the review itself how I got it, but due to privacy, I will not give out the city name of where I got it, if I still live there.

However, any reviews or reviewer (me) does not receive or accept any type of monetary compensation in exchange for my reviews. Sending a book to me, or even recommending a book to me does not guarantee a review. It is at my complete discretion which book I review and post. And if at any time I receive a book for free - examples: 1) I win a giveaway, 2) you (author, publisher) send me an ARC/book copy, 3) or even request me to review it - it does not guarantee a good review or a review of the book and will be stated on the review itself if I do review it. I will give my complete honest opinion and any feelings I have over the book.

Policy

Checking Out from the Library

  1. Basically, I check out anything I want from the library that I want to read, and check it out.
  2. Then I will try to read it all the way before all my check out times and renewal times is up.
  3. After reading, I follow the review policy that I have below. Depending on which time I am reviewing the book.
  4. It will be stated on the review itself if I checked it out from the library.
  5. After I post the review, I turn the book back into the library.

1st Review

Reading
  1. As you can see on the side where the genres are, I basically read anything and everything. I'm not that picky. ^^;
  2. I will try to read all books all the way. If I don't, you won't see a review OR rating.
  3. I read anything I want to read from the library or whatever I see at the store or Amazon. Though just because I read a book or get a copy of the book, whether by me buying or someone sending or checking out from the library, it does not grantee a review. However, no matter what, I will always give my complete honest opinion and any feelings I have over the book.
Making a Review
  1. I will read any kind of book ALL the way and review it. I will NEVER put up a review or rate it if I didn't even finish the book.
  2. Just because I read a book or get a copy of the book, whether by me buying or someone sending or checking out from the library, it does not grantee a review. However, no matter what, I will always give my complete honest opinion and any feelings I have over the book.
  3. When applicable, I will always show the series name and book number in the series, and sub series name and book number in the sub series. Also, if either of the book is the last one in the series or sub series as they are completed.
  4. I will always state the title, author, publisher, published year, ISBN, page number, where to buy them - if there are new or e-book copies from Amazon and Barnes and Noble, where/how I got it, 2nd review note (if it is my 2nd review on the same book), then if I review it as apart of a challenge, rating, then my summary about the beginning of the review, review, and then links.
  5. I will try to keep it spoiler free, but if even I think it is even a little bit spoiler of the book, I will state in the beginning of the review to beware of spoilers.
  6. I will try to point out things I liked and didn't like in the book review. If I don't do it in the first review or that well of a job, I may re-read the book and do a 2nd book review. I will put the policy of 2nd book reviews after I finish this policy.
  7. When I put the categories on, I make one for each author who wrote the book, series (if applicable), sub series (if applicable), age setting, and genre I thought the book was. Also, I will put a category of which review level I have it on, and also, the star rating.
  8. I put a copy of my reviews on Goodreads, my old wordpress, Amazon (Share with Dad), and this site.

2nd Review

It is the same as the first review, but I will add in the first review and compare how I felt before to how I feel now. :P
