Lucy Szabo is a teenage diabetic, and she has a very original theory about vampires. To her, they exist, but not in the usual way, she thinks original vampires were actually slowly dying diabetics before the discovery of insulin. Online, her nickname is Sweetblood, and she visits a Transylvania chat room, where "vampires" goes to discuss anything goth or vampire. However, there is one person different from everyone else that goes there and claims to be a real vampire, and she's not totally sure he's kidding. As she becomes more involved with vampires, goths, and that online guy, her life begins to turn for the worse --- failing classes, bad relationship with her parents, and even the ability to regulate her blood sugar worsens. What will happen when the online guy finds her and invites her to his strange world? Is he just a stalker? Or, is he really a vampire? Will she be able to make the choices she needs to in order to become the person she knows she is?

This isn't really a vampire book since it only really talks about theories of how the vampire legends came about.

I like how the author came up with a theory that vampires were untreated diabetics was very creative and different from anything I have heard before. Plus, it gives an awareness of how much medical technology has developed. Also, it points out how several people who would have died is still alive due to technology, so they are considered "undead". And also, it gives a sense of personal encouragement that even if you think you can't change yourself, you can if you just think about it.

Anyways, it's a pretty good book that points out new thinking and things like that. :)

After Destiny and Livvy Weller, twin sisters, spent a summer at Camp Blue Moon, they come back home with vampire-like symptoms. Now, they must find the Restorer, so that they can change back into mortal teenage girls again. However, who is the Restorer, and will they find him before the hunters or the vampire that changed them into vampires finds them first? While Destiny desperately tries to find the Restorer, Livvy becomes power-hungry. If Destiny regains her human life, will she be forced to say good-bye to her sister forever?

Another vampire aka supernatural book. You should know by now that I love these kinds of books. :)

Even though it's a pretty short book, it's still kind of good. Though, I would have wished for more in this book, instead of making it into series. The characters and events could have had more depth and details to them, which would have made this book much longer and fulfilling, but oh well. The book is a little fast paced for me since I read in like 6-7 hours. Also, the ending felt both a little rushed and satisfying (oddly) .

If I ever get my hands on the sequel, I'll read it and make a review of it also.

There are now two rogue Vampirate ships roaming the oceans, and they are both leaving a trail of destruction in their path. When one of the two rogue Vampirate ships kills and drains a high-profile pirate, the Pirate Federation is left with little choice but to destroy all Vampirates. In order to keep peace and harmony on both land and seas, they assign the mission of hunting Vampirates to newly appointed Captain Cheng Li and her crew. While Connor is placed in danger, Grace is enjoying what little time she has with her weak mother, Sally. Weakening with each passing day, Sally must reveal to Connor and Grace the truth behind their birth. How will Connor and Grace react to the shocking truth behind their true parentage?

As a whole this series and book is really good, so go ahead and read it. I'll just list of complaints and compliments about the third book in the Vampirates series.

Unlike the first two books, it doesn't start out with an unless prologue, so it gets better with that standpoint. Though, with my other complaints, not so much. :S

This book is much more interesting than the first three books in this series. There is more details and descriptions for both the events and characters, which makes the plot and action much more intriguing than the third book in the series.

Though, some things haven't changed that much with Grace. She still has the know-it-all attitude and personality, which doesn't really count as "wisdom", and it annoys me to a point to wanting to hit her. :) Also, she still is developing the whiny, desperate, needy, martyr-like personality. However, it is a little less than before since the book changes the point-of-view so much that you don't have to put up with her that often. Connor and the other characters seem to have develop more, and I like how they how they seem to fight against whatever destiny the author is trying to have for them, unlike Grace.

Another problem is that instead of envisioning the future, since it takes place in the year 2512, I kind on just seeing things that revert to the past. The only clue you have of the future is the modern-like objects that pop up every once in a while. Also, unlike the other books, the time period is posted at the beginning of the first chapter. :)

Making vampires into pirates is a very original idea, and this idea keeps you wanting more books in the series. Just read the series since it has start off in a very good way. :)

After being betrayed by the Pirate Academy, Connor returns to The Diablo. However, it is different from before ever since Captain Wrathe's horrible teenage nephew, Moonshine, joins the crew. When Connor is faced with a difficult decision, he questions whether or not he truly belongs in the pirate world. While Connor is faced with his decision, Grace, the Captain, Lorcan, and his donor all go on a mission to restore Lorcan's sight at the Vampirate Sanctuary. At the Vampirate Sanctuary, she feels like she doesn't belong. Connor and Grace will have to face various obstacles in order to find the place they truly belong, and most important, who can they really trust?

Unlike the first two books, it doesn't start out with an unless prologue, so it gets better with that standpoint. Though, with my other complaints, not so much. :S

The details and descriptions of the events and the characters in the series get more interesting and very well done as the series goes along. Also, the plot and action become more and more intriguing in the series as you read through it.

Though, Grace's know-it all kind of attitude and personality, which the author is tried to be passed off as wisdom, is kind of annoying at times. Also, she develops more of a whiny, desperate, needy, martyr-like personality. Yes, I still think that way about Grace, and she gets even more needy as the books go now. :( Out of Connor and Grace, Connor is the only one that has developed more as a main character. Also, this author has a tendency to make the male characters' personality more appealing and interesting than the female characters. :( Though, in this book, some of the females have taken a more interesting turn, except Grace. :(
